Specialized Figure Skate Sharpening

Revolution, Paramount, Gold Seal, Etc. Starting at $30.

30 US dollars

Service Description

Specialized figure skate sharpening for blades that are not the standard parallel type. If you have specialized blades, you most likely know it. These blades require specialized holders and blade support rollers. Different tools are needed for checking edge evenness. I've developed a special edge checking device used in conjunction with the SSM-2 Pro holders to measure edge evenness accurately. Specialized figure skate blades typically fall into these categories: Parabolic: Skate blade is thinner in the middle (mid-section tapering). Tapered: The Skate blade is narrower in the rear. Side-honed: The Skate blade is concave (a hollow shape on each side). Slimline: The Skate blade is thinner at the bottom (in the ice). Tapered edge: The Skate blade is angled at the bottom (in the ice). Revolution: The Skate blade is held by a carbon fiber chassis. Thick chassis: The skate blade is held by a thicker, yet lightweight, chassis, such as Matrix, Paramount, Phoenix, & Quantum.
