Our Story
At SchwendiSharpens, our story began in 2020 with a simple love for the ice. Our two kids discovered their passion for skating—our son dove into hockey while our daughter embraced the artistry of figure skating.

But as any skating family knows, keeping skates in top condition is essential—and we quickly realized it was harder than it should be. We often drove long distances for sharpening services, only to be met with inconsistent results.

Frustration turned into determination. I began sharpening skates for our family, friends, and teammates, learning everything I could and perfecting my technique. Before long, word spread. When a nationally experienced synchronized skating coach praised my work and shared her own disappointment with local options, I knew I was onto something.

That’s how SchwendiSharpens was born—out of necessity, fueled by passion, and built on the belief that every skater deserves precision, consistency, and care in their sharpening.
