Quad 2 Hockey Skate Profiling
Hold the Line. Glide Like a Freight Train.
Service Description
Quad 2 (7′–10′–13′–16′) hockey skate profiling shifts more length and stability into the mid/heel, giving you a calm, planted platform for blue-line work, gap control, and straight-line speed. You still get a usable, responsive toe for entries and quick direction changes, but the story here is poise at pace—clean edges through long crossovers, steady north-south glide, and confidence when you’re boxing out or eating minutes. Best for: Stay-at-home or bigger defensemen who value stability and efficient glide, Puck-moving D who want extra heel confidence without losing workable toe, Power forwards who battle on the walls and drive through contact. What it trades: Less instant toe “twitch” than Quad XS/0 and a touch less playfulness than Quad 1—by design, it favors composure and hold at speed. Dial-in tips (optional): Pitch: neutral → slight heel if you want maximum stability; forwards can keep neutral Hollow: 11/16″–3/4″ pairs well with the longer heel for efficient glide Runner length: shines on longer runners (281–296+) and heavier frames; on short runners, consider Quad 1 to avoid feeling too anchored Next steps if you want to tweak: Need more agility and snap? Move Quad 2 → Quad 1 (or go one step deeper on hollow). Want an even calmer, long-glide feel? Test 12′–13′ single or a 10′/13′ split. Prefer a seamless single-curve sensation? Try Natural Curve Quick 10' or Ellipse L. All profiling is performed on the SSM Profile Machine. After profiling, the steel will need to be sharpened to a specified hollow. In most cases, profiling and sharpening can both be done for next-day pickup. Please call or text if you have additional questions
