Quad 1 Hockey Skate Profiling

Balanced Bite. Confident Glide.

35 US dollars

Service Description

Quad 1 (6′–9′–12′–15′) hockey skate profiling is the do-everything quad. It maintains a responsive toe for sharp entries and quick starts, then transitions to longer mid- and heel zones for composed crossovers and efficient straight-line speed. Compared with Quad 0, it adds a touch more heel stability and glide without dulling your agility—ideal for players who cover all 200 feet and need their skates to feel predictable under pressure. Best for: Two-way centers who pivot between rushes, faceoffs, and defensive support, Puck-moving defensemen who escape, transition, and carry the puck with control, Forwards stepping up from Quad 0 seeking a calmer platform at speed. What it trades: Not as ultra-twitchy as Quad XS/0 at the toe, and not as “locked-down” as Quad 2 or long singles (12′–13′) on the blue line—this is the balanced middle. Dial-in tips (optional): Pitch: neutral (forwards can add a slight forward bias for extra toe pop) Hollow: centers/PMD 5/8″–11/16″; defense 11/16″–3/4″ Runner length: standard–long runners (272–288+) especially benefit from Quad 1’s calmer heel Next steps if you want to tweak: Want more snap and micro-cuts? Shift Quad 1 → Quad 0 (or go one step deeper on hollow). Want more top-end stability/glide? Move Quad 1 → Quad 2 (and/or one step shallower on hollow). Prefer a seamless single-curve feel? Test Natural Curve Quick 10' or Ellipse M. All profiling is performed on the SSM Profile Machine. After profiling, the steel will need to be sharpened to a specified hollow. In most cases, profiling and sharpening can both be done for next-day pickup. Please call or text if you have additional questions
