Quad 0 (6′–9′–11′–13′) hockey skate profiling blends a lively toe with a progressively calmer mid and heel, providing explosive starts and tight cuts up front while maintaining smooth crossover flow and glide as you accelerate. It’s the quintessential “modern forward” quad—more composed than Quad XS, but still quick and playful—great for players who attack in the corners and then carry speed through the neutral zone. Best for: Wingers who need bursty toe response without feeling twitchy, Two-way centers who want agility plus efficient straight-line pace, Skaters stepping up from 9.5′–10′ singles seeking a more dynamic, all-ice feel. What it trades: Not as ultra-snappy as Quad XS on micro-cuts, and not as floaty/stable as Quad 1/2 or long singles (11′–13′) at the top end—by design, it’s the balanced quad. Dial-in tips (optional): Pitch: neutral → slight forward to emphasize toe pop Hollow: 5/8″–11/16″ for a crisp bite that still glides Runner length: short/standard runners love Quad 0; very long runners (281–296+) may prefer Quad 1 for added heel calm Next steps if you want to tweak: Want more twitch/agility? Drop to Quad XS (or deepen hollow one step). Want more glide/stability? Move to Quad 1 (and/or go one step shallower on hollow). Prefer a seamless single-curve feel? Try Natural Curve Quick 10' or Ellipse M. All profiling is performed on the SSM Profile Machine. After profiling, the steel will need to be sharpened to a specified hollow.
