The 9′ radius hockey skate profiling is your go-to for maximum agility and explosive first steps. With a shorter rocker, more of your energy goes straight into quick edge engagement, giving you tighter turns, faster cutbacks, and snap-changes in traffic. It’s a favorite for shifty wingers, small-ice specialists, and developing skaters who want that lively, responsive feel underfoot. Expect crisp transitions, quick acceleration out of stops, and the confidence to dance along the boards without washing out. Best for: Forwards who live on cuts, dekes, and short-area bursts, Smaller or crowded sheets where rapid direction changes win puck battles, Lighter skaters or those building edge power who want instant feedback What it trades: Slightly less top-end glide and straight-line calm compared to 10′–11′ profiles—by design, this is tuned for agility. Dial-in tips (optional): Pitch: slight forward for pop off the toe Hollow: 1/2″–5/8″ to match the quick, grippy feel If you love how a 9′ turns but want a touch more glide, you could try a 9.5′ / 10.5′ split—we can A/B that with you after a couple of skates. All profiling is performed on the SSM Profile Machine. After profiling, the steel will need to be sharpened to a specified hollow.
