It’s a natural fit for two-way centers, puck-moving defensemen, and versatile forwards who need to be quick in the corners yet composed through the neutral zone. Best for: Players who value balanced feel—quick enough to attack, calm enough to recover, 200-ft games where shifts demand acceleration, transitions, and sustained speed, Skaters stepping up from 9′ who want more poise without losing response What it trades: Not as twitchy as 9′ for micro-cuts, and not as floaty as 11′–13′ at top speed—by design, it’s the balanced middle. Dial-in tips (optional): Pitch: neutral to slight forward for quicker toe engagement Hollow: 5/8″–11/16″ to keep the balance of bite and glide Next steps if you want to tweak: Crave more snap? Try a 9′/10′ split. Want extra glide/stability? Move toward a 10′/13′ split for a calmer heel. All profiling is performed on the SSM Profile Machine. After profiling, the steel will need to be sharpened to a specified hollow. In most cases, profiling and sharpening can both be done for next-day pickup.
